Spring has sprung here in Whitefish Montana!
There is nothing better than getting out and about after a long winter in the mountains.
A trip to Las Vegas for HD Expo, followed by a Spartan Sprint race in Montana is how we celebrated spring this May 2018.
Hospitality Design Expo, May of each year in Las Vegas, always delivers!
Takeaways from Panelists at HD Expo’s “Wellness: The Next Frontier”
Wellness: The Next Frontier was the panel moderated by Cary Collier of Blu Spas Inc.
Pleased to present with Anna Bjurstam of Six Senses, Maggy Dunphy of Two Roads Hospitality,
Aaron Richter of Equinox and Adria Lake of AWLakeDesign
-
Anna: Question Everything
Society is changing so rapidly, it is time to utilize science (and robots). Time to connect to nature and develop authentic relationships in every aspect of hospitality, including the staff experience.
Focus on the wellness traveler. Hospitality needs to de-stress with wellness design and simplicity in mind.
Be different, think forward, and be innovative. The future is accessibility, letting people find what they need and tap into the potential. We have so much to learn and have to challenge ourselves to think the unthinkable.
-
Aaron: Collective Wellness
Inspire community, engage activity with technology and create lounges to bring and keep people connected.
-
Cary: Experiential Travel
Design concepts and spaces for people of all ages to play. Bring the outdoors in, design with fun in mind, make memories, design experiences, travel to transform and find unique places to be, places that spark your soul.
After the panel, we enjoyed lunch (with margaritas) and continued the conversation with plans to meet again at HD Expo in 2019.
Additional highlights of HD Expo were meeting friends, old and new, and attending the “
Women In The Industry” powerhouse panel, moderated by Stacey Shoemaker Rauen, Editor in Chief at
Hospitality Design. Friends, sisterhood, brotherhood, and being part of your hood, are good for wellness too.
As for global wellness, we enjoyed the Green Voice Conversations, and more insight into Fitwel : The Cost-Effective, High-Impact Building Certification:
http://www.fitwel.org, is worth checking out.
Blu Spas: Global Spa Evolution Team
Next on the Spring Fling agenda was the Montana Sprint Race with our Blu Spas: Global Spa Evolution Team.
We are Spartans (well, some of us). The 2018 team was Doug Chambers and his daughter Katie, Cary Collier and our daughter Kiara Asia, and two of our friends from Whitefish Montana, Maxx and Sarah Beth.
Pictured below, before and after. (Yes, that is blood on Cary’s head, he is proud of his Spartan Scar!)
Want to come to Montana and Spartan with us in 2019?
Or if Las Vegas and HD Expo is more your groove, see you there May 17-19, 2019.
Let’s stay in touch! Kim
