Global Spa and Wellness Summit Venue – 2014
Blu Spas sends our best wishes to the Global Spa and Wellness Summit for a successful and memorable 2014 summit. Since we are unable to attend this year’s summit, we wanted to share some background information on the creation of the spa at Four Seasons Marrakech Morocco.
Opened in 2011, the Spa at Four Seasons Marrakech features 17 treatment rooms, including separate couples’ facilities with private entrances; a hammam; indoor and outdoor water facilities; private gardens and a salon. In addition to the 1,670 sm / 18,000 sf spa area, the property also features a 344 sm / 3,700 sf fitness facility.
SPA AT FOUR SEASONS MARRAKECH, MOROCCO
Blu’s spa and fitness consultancy services for the Spa at Four Seasons Marrakech began in 2005 and included:
• facility programming
• concept layout
• coordination of interior design, lighting, landscape and pools / thermal areas
• technical services (coordination of mechanical, electrical and plumbing; acoustical and audio / visual)
• designation of operating furniture, fixtures and equipment
The project team included GA Design International, London (interior design); Didier Lefort / DL2A, Paris (project architects); One Leisure Limited, Toronto (landscape architect) and Lighting Design International, London (lighting design). Blu Spas is thankful for these companies’ collaborative efforts in creating this distinctive spa and for the opportunity to have worked together.
